Seeking Peace through Prayer: Join Us From school shootings to killings on mass transit, from hate-filled and corruptive language to political assassinations, our Nation is in need of peace. And, not just our Nation but our Church, our families, our marriages, our children, our politics, our social media and our public discourse, our very selves. Hate, the Evil One’s specialty, has found a way to seep into everyday life.
Let us pray for the graces of the Theological Virtues—Faith Hope and Charity—that lead to salvation so that our words and deeds will help to heal and grow the common good amongst us.
Prayer not only changes the “other,” whoever or whatever that “other” may be or is, but prayer also heals and changes us—the one who prays by—conforming and transforming us closer to the Will of Christ—The source, the summit and the font of Love. I think we all might agree on that and that our country is in need of His healing Love.
To that end, St. Catherine of Siena Parish will celebrate a Liturgy of the Word (a prayer service) for the peace of our Nation, our families and our very hearts. Let us ask the Lord to look kindly upon America and to lead each of us to His Love, so that we may become His Love in our conversations, families, political- and social-discourse, and in our interactions with those with whom we disagree.
When: Monday, September 22 Where: St. Catherine of Siena Church Time: 7 O’clock in the Evening
Come as you are, imperfect and in need of His Grace; come with your families, come with your spouse, maybe come with those you disagree—and find Peace in the Presence of God. A Peace that can lead you to share it with everyone.
