What’s new in Faith Formation this coming year - 2026-2027
My name is Helen Treacy and I am the Director of Faith Formation for St. Catherine of Siena Parish. It has been wonderful meeting all of you this past year as we partnered together to build our Catholic faith at this vibrant parish!
NEW FOR 2026-2027
All classes will meet on Sundays from 9:30-10:30 AM at Henry James Memorial School (HJMS). The first day of classes will be September 20, 2026. This includes the Confirmation I and Confirmation II classes which are transitioning to 7th and 8th grade, respectively, in line with the Archdiocese of Hartford.
Registration is NOW OPEN until September 1, 2027.
The fees remain as follows: $110 for 1 child, $190 for 2 children, and $270 for 3 or more children. Students entering the second grade will have an additional fee of $35 for the preparation for their sacrament of First Holy Communion.
Faith Formation provides our children the opportunity to grow and be more comfortable in their faith. It is an essential part of Saint Catherine’s mission to form new and passionate disciples of Jesus Christ. This begins in the home, as parents are a child’s primary teacher, and this year’s program is focusing on including the family more in the conversation.
We want to help you be comfortable and have more conversations about faith with your children. To assist in this goal, we will be offering an opportunity for parents to meet in the HJMS cafeteria while the children are in class, and discuss a wonderful book series, “Habits of the Household” by Justin Whitmel Earley. This activity has earned wide praise for its practical and common sense approach to discussions about faith. More information will be coming soon….look for the Signup Genius in order to receive the book and participate in this wonderful series.
We are always looking for new catechists/teachers every year, so if you are interested or know of anyone who might be interested, please contact me. It is really a lot of fun!!
