This year, the Boston Mission Trip will be taking place from March 12th-15th and provides teens with a unique opportunity to work with the homeless in ways that are not typically available to us here in our hometown.  We will sleep in the basement of a church that has a fully equipped kitchen.  We will carry bags to worksites similar to how someone who is homeless carries their possessions at all times.  We will eat meals with the homeless, and will interact with them in a variety of ways at both men’s and women’s shelters in the area. We thank everyone who contributed to our Bake Sale and Silent Auction this year as well as to all of you who donated sweatshirts to our Hoodies for the Homeless collection.

In March 2024 we participated in a Mission Trip to Boston with teens from both St. Catherine of Siena and St. Mary's Youth Ministry.  Between the two parishes we sent 16 teens and 5 chaperones to serve the homeless in various shelters throughout the city of Boston.  It was a successful weekend and we wanted to thank all the parishioners who donated clothing and/or made a financial donation to support this trip.  Use the link below to read an update on the trip from Manuela Hanshaw, Director of Youth Ministry.
 

Boston 2024 - Update

When:  March 2027
Note:  We will leave Thursday evening and return by noon on Sunday.

Where:  Boston, MA

Accommodations:  Church basement

Who:  Sr. High Teens from St. Catherine of Siena, St. Mary's and St. Therese

Registration Deadline:  2026 registration is Closed. We hope to see you on our 2027 trip. 

Cost:  $100 + fundraising requirements by all teens

Transportation:  Carpool or Bus

Chaperones:  Ratio of 1 chaperone per 5 teens.
 

Two 8 ½ x 11 identical printed color picture (must be portrait, not landscape) with a brief description of the personal service, must be submitted on or before December 22.

Suggestions for personal services that teens can provide.

• Providing 4 hours of Spring cleanup
• 8 hours of babysitting (not performed all at once)
• Preparing a full-course dinner, vegetable and dessert, delivering, serving and clean up the meal
• Pet sitting or walking dogs for 5 cumulative hours (not performed all at one time)
• Spreading mulch and weeding for 3 hours one afternoon.
• Many of our most senior parishioners need help with technology, including remotes, cell phones, sign up genius, etc.

Each teen should expect to raise $250-$400 for their personal service.
