Sometime ago, I was told of an unfortunate happening at the St. Mary School (SMS) playground: a DUI driver made a mess out of the nearly 20-year old playground at St. Mary School. And, unfortunately as I understand it, the driver was either un- or under-insured, leaving the school with a nearly $125,000 replacement bill. The good news is that the SMS parents have done a wonderful job at raising money and to date they have collected more than $104,000!!! So, I thought we could muster-up some generosity for the little kids and the upper school students and perhaps help them along with their goal.   

I am making a personal donation of $500 and would like to ask anyone who is so inclined to join me in making a donation: no matter the size, every dollar counts in the joint effort to rebuild the playground and help create new and wonderful memories at playtime. No matter the size of your donation, a school playground is where “friendships begin, imaginations grow, and children experience the joy of playing and learning together.”   

The School has raised over $100,000 already: If you so choose, please send your donation, no matter the amount, to: St. Catherine of Siena Playground Support, PO Box 184, West   Simsbury, Conn, 06092 or place it in an envelope clearly marked for the PLAYGROUND, or leave it at the parish office with Lisa. 

For $1-$499 you can be a playground supporter; for $500-$999, you’ll be a Friend of the   Playground; for $1,000-$2,499 be in the Builder’s Circle; for $2,500-$4,999 you’ll be welcomed into the Shepherd’s Circle; and, for $5,000+ you can reside in the Legacy Circle! But for any amount at all, you’ll be in the children’s hearts—and prayers!  Thank you for your consideration.
